I enjoy writer/illustrator Debbie Ridpath Ohi‘s site, Inkygirl blog, and cartoons she contributes to Writer Unboxed. I wanted to introduce you to Debbie and share 3 of my favorite cartoons. Maybe she’ll inspire you, too!
I’ve suffered from this – there’s no unseeing what has been seen!

I TOTALLY get all that! Loving my blog and self-set challenges etc, but worry I’m not putting enough time into my novels
That last one happens all the time to me! 1am and I’m trying to sleep, but the characters say no!
Yeah, our characters can lead to sleepless or interrupted nights, that’s for sure!
I write articles, so I doubt that anybody’s worrying about getting stuck into my pieces in the same way, but I can personally relate to that first cartoon. I gulp novels down like peanuts, so I know how it feels to reluctantly crack open that first page of a favourite author’s novel and start chomping. What’s taken a writer months to put together usually takes me a handful of days to demolish. I often feel as sorry for the writer as I do for myself.
Mary, I’ve felt the same way — especially during the summer with beach read romances – those books I bring away that take me only a few hours to devour and then pass on to someone else. I’ve sometimes felt guilty for reading a book quickly. 🙂

Boy have I felt this way before and not only about reading!
